How they both mean and require?
Web Designer
A web design always involves in an appearance of any website. They are done by the web designers who are familiar with color theory, graphic design, and information flow. They also have knowledge in touch upon user experience and tools like Adobe, Photoshop, and wire framing software. A web designer is not mandatory to know coding and they can improve their work using some digital skills. Eventhough there is no compulsory of coding but they will be good if they know HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. This may levels higher position for web designers.
Web Developer
While you are looking for a web developer, they must need to know about coding and must know to work on them for websites. Web designers are responsible for appearance and web developers for the functionality of a website. Web developers may be skilled in the front end or back end or both. As web designers know with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, the front end developers also must know about those and they both should have some coordination and idea in common. But back-end developers always work with some general work using some programming language and frameworks like Ruby, Python, and Django, etc and MySQL. A web developer is also known as full stack developer if they are known for both frontend and backend.
From the above, you may be clear that web designer may or may not have programming skill and they focus on how the end user will view the process of navigating the site but the web developer must possess knowledge of coding and they focus on how the user will able to get things done. But both make their better thing with the internet.
The web designers must have creative skills to do attractive website and all their works will be displayed and can be judged while seeing the website. In the other hand, the web developer must have coding skills and their work won’t be attracted by any eye but can just look at your Github profile. Even though their work is hidden but they can get high pay range than web designers.
But I think both of their works are interrelated and both should know to design and to write coding. This makes the end users to get satisfied and also to make a better good looking and other things done on the website.
